Talked to Hufstelder's this morning, Whitten is now open for business. Did not ask about the ramp, but they are putting in canoes there now.

It has looked ready for about a week now, but they were waiting for an inspection. Guess they must have done it.

Just came from Whitten 2 hours ago and the forest service was doing the inspection on the work. If it passes hopefully it will be open by the weekend, if not they will keep it closed until the corrections are made. Here is to hoping they pass it.

I was just told by the forest service that Whitten would probably officially reopen next week as the concrete steps have to be retested.

Going make a stop next weekend and check it out. Just for the sake of curiosity, I wonder what the USFS punch list entails???

I think they must have opened it, it was usuable on Sat. They still had a bag over the sign off of AA though.

I really expected a little more out of them than a little gravel and concrete. They did haul in some big chunk rock to try to block campers for a while. Looks like it will be a cluster on a busy day, the canoe access is still a few feet away from the boat launching ramp.

It was not technically open this weekend, though people did pull the sign out of the road and use it anyway. Hoping that it is officially open this week.

The river was technically too low for jet boat use this weekend, so they should block off the ramps to keep people from damaging boats. We saw one other boat on the river all weekend and it limped back with 2 holes in the bottom to our 1.
