Walcrabass Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Skeeter, Zara Spook, Blade, 9lb., and others, What is the Bass Bite at Stockton right now??? Zara Spook, did the cold snap improve the top water/spook bite? How about the Jig bite ( I Hope)?? Is anybody still seeing those big long lines of Shad??? I am wanting to go this weekend and would like some information as I will only be able to fish in the afternoon. Thanks, Walcrabass
9LB Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I got to fish this weekend. Saturday I had some good luck with the Spook. A bunch of nice smallies and some nice Bass, However the Walleyes were biting and so I switched gears the rest of the weekend. The walleyes were hitting real well in the mid morn after the sun was up. NIghtcrawler and a jig in 8-12 foot of water. Caught several and then went out and did some bow hunting.
zarraspook Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Sorry, I'm in California with VERY limited internet ( dial-up !!!!! )...will talk latter NOV 2nd+.... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Members MissedAnother Posted October 30, 2012 Members Posted October 30, 2012 Only got to fish for 2 hours in the middle of the day on Sunday the 28th, so it was kind of tough, but I had the best luck fishing a white jig with a grub trailer along bluff walls, we hit the backs of some creeks but all we saw was little balls of shad, and some dink bass, couldn't really get anything going. Even with the bluff bite, keeper fish were hard to come by then again it could just be me.
Skeeter ZX190 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I went out Thursday afternoon and caught a few on a shakey head rigged with a green pumpkin senko. Caught 3 keepers on a white spinner bait where the wind was blowing. After the wind switched (around 3:30) the bite died. I was fishing around the dam.
Members brian g Posted November 4, 2012 Members Posted November 4, 2012 Been a while since I posted. Drove down to Stockton. Fished 8 hrs. Then drove home. 6 hr. round trip. Had to get my fishing fix. Caught a few keepers here and there. Started in very backs of the larger coves mid lake. Buzz bait and popper produced one keeper smallie and some dinks. Fished bluff wall ends and some main points.A Few dinks. Went up river found balls of shad but no bass. Caught 4 keepers and several dinks on spinnerbaits fishing the timber along channel. Was a ok day. The drive home was rough but I would do it again! In early fall its kinda hit and miss. You have to be out fishing to be there for the "HIT" days. I have enjoyed reading the posts from the regulars. Helps to keep updated when can't get away to fish. (Have 5 month old baby girl. ) Harder to get away.
straw hat Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Congrats on the baby girl!! When she gets older be sure and take her with you. She will never forget it!
