Members ozark flyflinger Posted October 27, 2012 Members Posted October 27, 2012 What is your favorite Stone Fly Nymph (pattern) for fishing the Current ?????
Nortrad Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 #8 Pat's Rubber Leg, vary the colors. Had most hits on the rust/olive chenille w. olive legs and with rust legs. Also caught them on the 'orange'/black, I don't know the color. When the fly is wet the colors look good.
Members jgentile Posted October 28, 2012 Members Posted October 28, 2012 #6 Jimmy Rubber Legs is my favorite. I tie them up with with Danville "Coffee & Black" variegated chenille. I'm not entirely sure that it really is a good impression of a stonefly nymph, but it is an extremely effective pattern.
Gavin Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Think the fish take a R. Legs as a stone or a craw....flat out ruthless anywhere...Goldens are common on the current.Rubber legs Fox Squirrel works pretty well...The CR Gold works too.
Kayser Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 #6 black, of my own creation- two layers of .20 lead wire on the shank, rubber legs. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
