Quillback Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 We started off really well, got a couple of topwater fish in Prairie creek, and it looked like it was going to be good topwater day - but it wasn't. We fished from PC to not far from Rocky Branch, ended up with 18 or so blacks, small fish, 10-13". Paddle tail swimmer on a jig head was our best fish catcher, and I think we picked up one on a spoon, one on a jig, and had a couple of bites on the A-rig. Water temps were 60-62.
jeb Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Yeah, I had high hopes with the sunrise surface bite in PC! But it sure slowed down fast. Still not a bad day for Beaver, but we sure had to cover some water to find groups of more active fish. It's always fun to see what Beaver has in store. I've taken to thinking of it as the upside down lake. Cold front moves in and they bite. Warm and windy day will shut them down. Sunny, calm day and they'll be out maurading open flats. jeb Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Quillback had not seen the "green castle", so I showed him where it was. It's looking pretty bad in it's current state. But we stopped to fish for a minute, and to our surprise, you could hear music blaring from the place. Something is going there. Squatters maybe? John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha

I heard there was a man living there that killed his family with an ax........sorry it is almost Halloween.
Quillback Posted October 30, 2012 Author Posted October 30, 2012 I heard there was a man living there that killed his family with an ax........sorry it is almost Halloween. It was contemporary rock and roll type music so I wasn't worried, but if it had been organ music I might have been a little spooked.
