BolivarBasser Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 I have for sale a Savage 111 chambered in .300 Win. Mag., synthetic stock. The gun is in great shape and comes with a Simmons 3-9x40 scope. Reply or text 417-298-4372 if you want more info or pics, ask for Justin. I'm asking $400 or will trade for a bolt action in good shape chambered in 30-06 or .270.
BolivarBasser Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 This is for all of you guys who shot at a deer this year and missed....this gun is a tack driver...I'll send anyone interested a picture of a MOA group at 100 yards. Make me an offer.
TroutRinger Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I have the same gun (well a 110 with an Accutrigger) in 30.06. They are very accurate. ...300 Win Mag has got to hurt the shoulder. I hate shooting mine. Luckily it's only a few rounds a year. "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." BolivarBasser Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Recoil is manageable, and it does the trick. Never had a deer step out of its shadow.
junkman Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Sounds like the 45 70 I used to own. And I say used to. Yes never had a dear get away with it but man I finally got tired of the recoil.
BolivarBasser Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Yeah, I shot a 45-70 once...and I mean once, literally... Got a guy looking at the rifle on Saturday, but it goes to the first one with cash in hand. I'll throw in the 1+ box of ammo I have with it.
TroutRinger Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Recoil is manageable, and it does the trick. Never had a deer step out of its shadow. Absolutely. I just hate sighting it in when you have to shot 6-10 shots in a few minutes. "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy."
