Lifes2Short Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 What a great day to be on the water, cloudy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon. A bit breezy but that didn't stop the bass bite! Went out of Mutton Creek and tried crappie fishing on some brush piles first thing but only caught one dink. Decided to fish a main lake channel swing point and ended up catching over a dozen bass on the shakey head with the 4" worm. A few of the bass might have gone 15" but they were scrappy fighters. Funny thing about today, when the bass picked up the worm (8 to 15 feet deep) you didn't feel them hit the worm but they held onto the worm and wouldn't let go.......thus it was easy to set the hook! Also went into the back of Googer Creek and found some bass hitting crank baits and spinner baits in 2 to 5 feet of water. Water temp was 53 to 55 degrees. Overall I think I ended up catching 18 to 20 bass and one keeper Walleye. Fishing should only get better as this weeks weather gets warmer!
Members walleye hunter Posted November 7, 2012 Members Posted November 7, 2012 Thanks for a good report, wish I could get down there. I'm a bit obsessed right now with deer I'm not seeing.
