Members kayaker Posted November 20, 2012 Author Members Posted November 20, 2012 Thanks Justin, I am the guy who has been emailing you about coming down with some buddies Dec.7-9 and camping, floating and fishing. Hope the fishing is better that weekend. We already tied some pats rubberlegs, pheasant tails, and streamers. Is the egg fly bite going yet.

They always eat eggs to an extent, a 20+ " brown was caught on one last week. They will continue to improve as the winter progresses. Hopefully we'll get some good rains in the next couple weeks and things should improve dramatically. Al Agnew Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 No matter how clear the water is, in fishing nymphs I never go any lighter than 4X fluorocarbon. Will go lighter on dries if I'm fishing little bitty ones, but even fishing size 22s I don't go below 6X. I match tippet to the size of the fly, not to the clarity of the water. Tippet simply has to be light enough that its stiffness and water resistance won't unduly affect the drift of the fly (and it has to fit through the eye of those little bitty flies).

Kayaker the fishing is going to suck that weekend I would try another time. Just kidding if you see a couple of knuckleheads in a grey Clackacraft make sure and say hi.
Justin Spencer Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Don't worry about Sean catching all the fish, he'll catch just enough to get a free meal at the Three Legged Mule. sean c Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 The only thing better than a Three Legged Mule Alaskan burger is a FREE Three Legged Mule Alaskan burger. You and Eli need to get your deer hunting business taken care of by then so you can sneak out and fish with us.
