Bill Babler Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I'm a little bit sworn to mums the word here, but I have been receiving text pictures the last 3 days of crappie catchin going on down there. Averaging 20 to 30 crappie per 4 hr. trip and they are BIG. Has anyone been out lookin? Temperature to be in 60's and low 70's for a week,so should be a good time to take a peek. Might try to arrange a trip later this week. Sounds good. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Sam Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Bill, thanks for posting this - that's giving us an unexpected fresh crappie supper this evening! Pretty good for December. As Madeliene Kahn famously said in "Blazing Saddles", "It's Twue, It's Twue!" A helpful hint: I wasted half the trip looking for 'em - they're holding tight on flooded trees in DEEP water, 30 to 40 feet. That was hard for me to fish with a lead head jig and swimmin' minnow, but I managed. Live minners and a slip bobber would have been better. Water temp 50, all black crappie.
