Members Bama Posted December 7, 2012 Members Posted December 7, 2012 Hey all, fng here hailing from AL. I'm going to be traveling up with family in the beginning of January to Big Cedar. I would love to get a little fishing in, but won't really be able to break away for any boat trips. Any tips/advice for some shore excursions? Are any bass/bream/crappie hitting during those times? Any fish that may be hitting that we don't have in the south? (Think walleye, etc) Anyway, thanks for any advice you can provide.
riverfish Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 save your money, hire a good guide schedule a four hour trip. the fishing in january can be pretty awesome on the rock. surely you can squeeze a half day trip in. and the guide will be already on some type of producing pattern to make your experiance more productive. i suggest an afternoon trip to give the fish time to get out of bed. there are some very good guides on this lake.

gitnby Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 One of 2 things? If you can afford Big Cedar, then you can afford to book a guide! Or, if not, then cancel Big Cedar, stay somewhere cheaper and book a guide!
gitnby Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Or the other option is to take the points, bet $300 on Notre Dame, and THEN hire a guide! Roll Tide?
