podum Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Do any of you use a chest pack instead of a vest while fly fishing? Thinking about the Sage model for Christmas. I have a vest for years and am constantly frustrated by it. Just dont like the utility of a vest while in the water. Thoughts appreciated. Paul I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
exiledguide Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I looked around a while back and bought the Fishpond Waterdance Guide Pack the big selling point for me was that you can also use it as a sling pack or fanny pack as well as a chest pack and it has 2 mesh pockets to carry my water bottles with mr on the river. I think I bought it from Fishwest Compay on the internet. There also were youtube videos showing how you can use it. I use it for Smallmouth fishing using a spinning rod and it holds about all the gear I used to carry in my vest and it has more than enough room for fly fishing. I had looked at Orvis sling pack but I liked the pockets for water bottles on the Fishpond. It also seems to be very well made and has a lifetime guarantee.
exiledguide Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Before you buy on the internet you might try local fly shops around your area. When I bought mine I couldn't find it localy.
podum Posted December 13, 2012 Author Posted December 13, 2012 Now leaning Fishpond. Thanks Exiled. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
