I have a 2005 ranger 519vx, i am changing the carpet as a january project. As well as typical winter maintenance. A few of my fiberglass deck lids are becoming spongy... And cracked through....

I want to fix them the best way possible even if it is expensive....

I spend half my time in lampe and the other half in leslie mo.

Any advise?

I would call Ranger and see if they would sell you pieces of their pulltrusion. It may be hard to rip and crosscut to match your old lids but if you can, you will have a permanent solution. They have a variety of widths, lengths, and thicknesses.

I toured the plant and had a chance to examine pulltrusion and I truly cannot believe how strong it is.

If that doesn't work for you give Tom a call at Championship Marine over on hwy 160 south of Highlandville. Those boys do good work.

Save money and do it yourself. If you have access to a few tools fiberglass is not that hard to work with and repair. You can find fiberglass cloth and resin at most auto stores and Wal-Mart.

PM me if you like. I'm in the middle of a full blown restoration on my Ranger 374V and have done PLENTY of fiberglass repair on this boat!......LOL
