huntest Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Ozarkgunner where did you find 110+ 1 for $15 each? thanks
ozarkgunner Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 The tackle store by the Kraft plant in Springfield. Angler At Law
ozarkgunner Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 It think its called sportsman's factory outlet. They were running a special about a month ago. Angler At Law
Football Head Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Yes it is Sportsman's Factory Outlet. Unfortunately I think the special on the 110+ 1 is over.
Members champ198 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Members Posted January 7, 2013 Looks like I may need to get a 110+1 (or 2 or 3). Just what I need....more 25$ jerkbaits.
moguy1973 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Has anyone used the river2sea Fetch Minnow? I got one in a mystery box and looks pretty good but haven't tried it yet. It's the smaller one but the bigger one says it gets down to 10'. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
riverfish Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 i have and throw several different stick baits but none have caught as many fish for me as a smithwick rogue in clown color
ozarkgunner Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Each to his own.... I won't buy the high dollar spinner baits (stick to war eagle) or Cranks (wiggle wart and fat free shad) but a few lures are worth the extra money. IMO the Sammy (lucky craft top water) and mega bass are worth every dime. I have a box full of smithwicks. They catch fish. You don't need a mega bass to catch fish, but it sure helps. You don't need a corvette, but it sure drives a lot nicer than a Honda. The Mega bass flat catches fish. I wish they did not produce the result that they do as I would settle for $8 xraps, but results matter. I boat at least 50% more fish on the high dollar jerk baits than the cheaper baits. The paint jobs and hooks are much better. A jerk bait may sit in front of a fish for 15 seconds before they eat it. The small details make a BIG difference at that stage. If you get a good lure retriever, you will rarely, if ever lose a mega bass. The fish wear them before you lose them. Angler At Law
Members champ198 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Members Posted January 7, 2013 Bry.... I'm halfway joking about getting 3 baits.....and certainly only on sale. Seems like I spend the most on tackle during the winter when I can't go out and play too much. I agree with using the older baits as well. Did real well in a tournament a few years ago on a 20 year old black jitterbug when everyone else was throwing a buzzbait. I may need to dust off some of my old rogues.
