Quillback Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I was over in the area today, scouting some launches, stopped by the Grove boat launch that will be used for the Classic and took a few pics. New launch lanes (I counted 4) Reminder: You can click on pics to enlarge. Old Ramp with dock: Looking east towards the new lot under construction. I talked to one of the workers, he told me that the blueprint calls for around 800-900 boat parking spaces. I can believe it, looks to be the size of a Wal-Mart parking lot. Looking over the lot towards the inlet where the ramps are (they may need a shuttle bus to get you to the ramp if you park your rig back here. Looking at the lot towards the west:
Guest Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Did they build a "slow" lane for the Spring hatch of idiot boaters? LOL
Donna G Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Very cool. Nicols and BFL in March will benefit from the Classic work. Only perk missing would a bunch of boat slips like we used to have at Ahoy's on TR. Thanks for sharing, Quillback. rps Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Impressive! Do you know? Who is paying for this? The state. Grove, other?
Quillback Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 No RPS, I don't know where the money is coming from, would have been a good question to ask the construction workers I talked to, but did not think of it. I'm hoping the Bassmaster folks are part of the funding.
Donna G Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I read it was a joint contribution of the state and city of Grove. rps Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Good. I like to see cities, counties, and states that step up and spend money to attract real money that ALSO attracts public good.
