Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 13, 2013 Root Admin Posted January 13, 2013 Nice morning. Tough afternoon. Cold rain. Weighs were much better than last Saturday. Saw quite a few male rainbows. Biggest trout was 1.60 pounds and was a male rainbow. But did not see one "pretty" rainbow today, one that has been in the lake weighing over a pound. I honestly don't know where those fish are. We've always seen them in the past winter tournaments. Sounds like they're all below the dam.
Members troutenhausen Posted January 13, 2013 Members Posted January 13, 2013 My brother and I had a great time, despite the nasty conditions. The bite seemed to turn on once the rain reached a heavy drizzle, glad the heavy stuff waited until we got back to the dock for weigh in. Our weight of 6.02 put us in 7th place, much better than we thought we would finish given that we did not have a "toad" in the live well. Phil, this being called the Masters tournament, have you considered having the top 10 or so teams qualify to fish the next day, with combined weights being the winner?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 13, 2013 Author Root Admin Posted January 13, 2013 It started as a 2-day tournament but many could not fish the next day. I would like to see a shortened day on Sunday - 8 till noon.
Members troutenhausen Posted January 14, 2013 Members Posted January 14, 2013 We would definitely be interested in a second day of 4 hours. Either way, thanks for putting this on. See ya in February.
