Bitethis Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I live in springfield, and am wanting to do some bank fishing in the Cape Fair area. Not picky on species, but wouldn't mind catching some whites the the Dogwoods start shedding. Any pointers you can give would be appreciated, as I am not as familiar with Cape Fair.
Bill Babler Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Lots of possibilities out of Galena on the James that time of the year. Watch the forum and you will see guys talking about catching limits of whites up the James from the bank. Probably the best bank fishing on TR lake. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
BATCAB27 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Yep, up in the James mid March or so the whites will be there. Probably the most popular spot is the Blunks access in Galena.
Bitethis Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 ... Probably the best bank fishing on TR lake. Any recommendations? I have limited my fishing to Stockton for the last several years. I have my favorite catfishing spot, favorite LM spots, favorite walley spots, favorite white bass spots, etc. I have been avoiding TR because of my assumptions that it is too busy, but then I realized that its just a wee bit larger than Stockton and could probably support a few more anglers ;-) I dont own a boat (3 kids, a mortgage, the whole fishermans broke sob story), so bank fishing is what I do 90% of the time, the rest of the time I bum a boat ride from a friend when he needs a "co-angler". I know TR is a good fishery, but I think the vast size has also steered me away too. I just don't know where to get in and do some good bank fishing, so any pointers are welcomed, and willing to swap spots on stockton too.
Bitethis Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Highway 13 public use - does this area have access for bank fishing? Google maps doesn't show enough road detail for me to get a good picture of it.
