Members TexomaOkie Posted November 3, 2006 Members Posted November 3, 2006 I've heard President Bush is visiting Southwest Missouri today. Anyone know the details?
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 3, 2006 Root Admin Posted November 3, 2006 He spent the night in Springfield and had a rally this am at 9. I didn't even think... was Danny with him?
Terry Beeson Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Air Force 1 is parked out here at the airport...or it was at 10am when I was out there... I've heard two stories... one that he's here to help Talent's campaign... the other that he's here to help McCaskill's.... Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 3, 2006 Root Admin Posted November 3, 2006 TexomaOkie's son is a marine assigned to AF1. He's probably with him on this trip.
Members TexomaOkie Posted November 3, 2006 Author Members Posted November 3, 2006 Phil, He's been all over the country with "W" and the VP the last couple of weeks. He didn't come along today. He's in Waco, TX today waiting for the president to come back to the ranch at Crawford this evening. It's the closet he's been to home on one of his assignments, so we're going down tomorrow to see him and possibly tour Marine One. He says he has lots of cool digital pics. Hopefully I can send some to you.
Terry Beeson Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I did get to see the chopper, AF1, and the C-140 cargo jet that carries all the limos and "stuff"... It's still parked out there just across from our parking lot.... next to all the Cessnas and Pipers... LOL... looks like their "big brother" looking over them... When Clinton was pres, I worked in Hope, AR. At that time there were like 3 or 4 teams assigned to his travels... one or two before he got there, one while he was there, and one already waiting at the next stop. We were told to make sure there was nobody on the roof of the building here - working or otherwise - during "W's" visit. Same thing when Bill would come to Hope... TO, Kewl assignment to tell his kids and grandkids about... Members TexomaOkie Posted November 3, 2006 Author Members Posted November 3, 2006 Terry, They haul Marine One and the other birds in the C-140, too. He says the guys play football in the big plane while traveling across the country. Sounds like a bunch of crazy Marines to me!
Terry Beeson Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Sounds like a bunch of crazy Marines to me! Is there any other kind? ("BU-RAH!" and a "Semper Fi" from my late dad... who never lost his "jarhead" persona for the 50 years he lived after he got out...) Al Agnew Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I listened to snippets of the President's speeches in SW MO today. Is it just me, or did he seem to make his speech patterns more "country-hick" than normal while speaking in our state? He sounded like he was trying to sound like Harry Truman...or a country-western singer.
MTM Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 The guy is from Texas and sounds that way most of the time. Most of the Democrats think he is dumb and can't talk well at all? Funny how people can make fun of others when they don't agree with them on things. It is not in me to do that. I will say what I want to about a person but not make fun of anyone. Like Kerry now there is a dumb person that thinks he is smart. Ron
