I wish I could RC. I'd love to meet some folks from the forum. Unfortunately, I have to work. Catch a few for me while you're there!

I've only been to two in 66 years but thelast one several years ago JJTroutbum, NoLuck and I met for breakfast at Ollies and then went fishing later. Actually zone 1 cleared out a little afternoon and it was not that bad. It was definately not shoulder to shoulder.

Jack, I will gladly send your boss an excuse note :have-a-nice-day: I find if you use the term "explosive diarreha" it generally works.

Yeah RC You're right it does clear up in the afternoon. The whistle time is something to behold and everyone should experience it once, but I suggest as a spectator.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

In all the years I have been going (I'm 56) I have only attended 1 opener. That year Dixie and I took the Pop up down to CG5. It wasn't crowded at all. The weather was cool, but that night it got up to 75 or so. About midnight sirens started going off, the Park Rangers drove through telling everyone to seek shelter. BTW shelter at Bennett is under the hotel rooms just up from CG1. It was a mad house. Apparently tornadoes were coming from Oklahoma. Once there was an all clear we went back to bed. When we woke up it was freezing out. What a mess.

Like others said it does clear out a bit as people get their limits and go back to bed, since they were up before 5 to get their special spot.

I doubt that I go especially since it is on a Friday!!

I first fished BS in '59 and lived in the park for a year and I haven't missed fishing it very often, even living in OK and OR for spells. It has changed so much now that I rarely fish it. The DNR just couldn't say no to Sam Welch and Jim Rogers.
