npierceuark Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 No problem jdelow, i dont have any secret spots, at least for crappie haha. I caught 20 this evening all shorts again 10 fow around brush with minnows 4' under a bobber near a bluff. Just can't seem to find the fatties. That lake house sounds like a good spot for night fishing under lights. You ever give that a try in the summer?
jdelow77 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Caught 3 today all shorts ... I was just happy with three !! Lol
npierceuark Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 I met up with Jdoc on Sunday and we couldn't locate any crappie around Avoca but did manage some decent kentuckys. Enough to kick the skunk out of the boat. Jdelow, do you live down around fayetteville? I'm right there off Exit 62. If you want to meet up one of these next couple weeks when the whites start running I will show you some of the areas I fish.
jdelow77 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I live in Centerton , but I don't mind driving ... I usually hit war eagle for whites ... I'll let you know a few days in advance and we can try and plan something

Stump bumper Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Anyone use crappie nibbles ? I bought two colors today , going to try them out the next warm day I have used them on ice jigs and had great luck on them with crappie and trout below the darn but my wife lost all my ice jigs and have not bothered to order anymore. I saw some on cabela's bargain cave on line, but have no idea if this store stocks them. The ice jigs I am talking about are the small spoons with a single hook soldered in the center, they are good for casting as well as working vertical.
jdelow77 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Going to try crystal lake (its 15 mins from my house) Sunday , only have about two hours to fish so I need to stay close to home ! I will let everyone know how the nibbles work
jdelow77 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Struck out today , it was windy as well .. Looks like a few weeks before I will get out again ..
npierceuark Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 I didn't have a chance to go but the report I got from a friend was pretty encouraging. They caught close to 40 total with 20+ keepers all in 10 FOW around timber on Saturday. Of course they catch the keepers without me. All on minnows fished around 3' deep
