LittleRedFisherman Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Finally got all the footage together!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Members raise the motor Posted December 22, 2013 Members Posted December 22, 2013 Nice fish. Was it 30 inches? It appears you were drifting a bait. Was it minnows or power bait? Joe "God always gives His best to those who leave the choice to Him." Otto Davis
Members Wornica Posted December 22, 2013 Members Posted December 22, 2013 Awesome trip and great fish! Enjoyed the song at the end too!
LittleRedFisherman Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Thanks guys, haven't watched this myself in awhile, you brought it up from deep in the Threads. It measured 29 inches, and we were using minnows. I'm not a bait guy with trout, love to fish jigs these days, but this was a guided trip in search of big browns, and this does do that. I sure wasn't expecting a fish that big that day, one I'll never forget!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Jeff Tief Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Enjoyed all the browns and as Wornica said the song at the end.
Mitch f Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Wow, great video, love to see the footage of him swimming near the boat! Good job landing that hog on 4lb. I'm also very impressed with the guides patience and timing with the net. I learned something! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Blazerman Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Beautiful fish. I know that stretch well. How much water were they running if any? It looked like you were anchored in the beginning? Did he pull up the anchor when you hooked your big fish are were you drifted at that point.

Yes, they ran a couple units that morning, then shut them down, drifted spots all morning. When I hooked that big one, it's when they shut the water off, about an hour had went by of low water, and yes, he had to pull ancher, took about 10 minutes to land. Wow, great video, love to see the footage of him swimming near the boat! Good job landing that hog on 4lb. I'm also very impressed with the guides patience and timing with the net. I learned something! Yes, he's very good, been doing that for 20 some odd years he said. Don't like how they can swallow the hook fishing like that, but it works. He texted me this summer and said he saw that same fish working that same area in some low clear water, I bet it's over 30 inches by now!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
