ness Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Thanks for the link stlskyline, it looks like folks are pretty happy with Allen's customer service. It also seems like the Allen is bit more sturdy (?) I don't guess either reel would withstand the underwater Ness treatment ;-) Hell -- just noticed this. You can't be dishing it up if you weren't even there, man. John
Geoff Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Allen reels are great. I have 5 or 6 of them and a couple of lamson and soem sage. The trout II has a sealed drag as well as the lamson now. I have a burnt orange on my redington classic trout and it s swell looking combo. They are also running store credit for their deal of the week so you can get a slight discount on the reel. they ship fast and their warrenty is stand up. You wont be dissapointed with it. I also have a Alpha II in the "superman" color combo that brian posted, its bright as crap and looked awesome out on the flats skiff. Forsythian Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 Hell -- just noticed this. You can't be dishing it up if you weren't even there, man. I just missed you that weekend Ness... I rolled into camp an hour or two after you left as I recall... did you wind up selling that boat? Cenosillicaphobiac
ness Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I just missed you that weekend Ness... I rolled into camp an hour or two after you left as I recall... did you wind up selling that boat? I should. It's clearly defective. John
JCWolfe Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 The one thing I'd verify is if they have a warranty. Looking on their site I don't see one but I could be glancing right over it. I know this is a few months old but I can tell you, that if anything is wrong with their stuff, they WILL make it right. Okiemountaineer
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I should. It's clearly defective. Don't remember hearing about this Ness. Did you buy a canoe with the bottom on the wrong side? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
