Members shearon Posted February 25, 2013 Members Posted February 25, 2013 Hello... New to the forum, so here goes. Have mostly done fly fishing for trout, wade fishing for smallmouth, goggleeye, etc the last few years. My boy is now old enough to fish and he cant wait. I really would like to get him into some crappie and or whites this spring. My problem is I am boatless, I am relatively new to the area and am not sure of where I should take him this spring. Any suggestions of a spot around springfield, Stockton, Tablerock, etc where one can bank fish and have a shot at a few crappie would be appreciated. Hope to get him hooked on this kind of fishing, so he will want to come with me and fly fish when he gets older. Thanks ikn advance for any input...
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 25, 2013 Root Admin Posted February 25, 2013 Ask the same question when it looks like they're getting good. There are some spots on upper Bull Shoals I've done good - depends of water levels there. Taneycomo may be a place too, believe it or not. Of course you have a better shot at white bass when they're running from the bank. They'll be info on the forum at that time too.
ozarkgunner Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Bullshoals - beaver or swan. Swimming minnows or sliders. James river - blunk hole - south of galena. Purple swimming minnows or rostertails. Stockton- cc bank access near greenfield or Taylor bridge on little sac side. Angler At Law
