jdmidwest Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 A buddy of mine called today and wanted me to start thinking about a smallmouth trip this spring or summer and he wants Table Rock. I have not really paid much attention to that part of the state, is there any good smallmouth fishing in Table Rock? Not being a big lake fisherman, I always think of streams for smallies. The only lake I have fished for smallmouth is Pickwick in TN. It was ok, but pretty boring for the most part. Few fish and a couple of nice ones in the 3 lbs range. But, I would rather float or wade a nice stream for them. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

If you didnt like Pickwick, I doubt TR will be fast and furious like the creeks. Unless you hire a guide.
ozarkgunner Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 The dam area and indian point area have some nice smallies. Use a grub or jig and you will do fine. I Personally would rather river fish for them in the kings river. Angler At Law
LarrySTL Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 And theres a Lakes section of the forums, with a very active one for Table Rock, lots of information, quite a bit of it about smallmouth. http://intervenehere.com

jdmidwest Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Maybe we will give it a spin then. Although, I really don't know when I am going to pull it off before August. Seems like something going one every weekend till then. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
rps Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 JD My end is not the smallmouth end or I would volunteer to show you all a location or two. Good luck!
jdmidwest Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Thanks. I am thinking if we go that far in a boat we may end up on the ramp at Taney and try for some trout. But I may humor him and go smallie hunting instead. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Outside Bend Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 You may be able to do smallies in TR proper as well as do a float/river smallie trip on the Kings or the James. <{{{><
