Shoot, Saturday we went to Aldridge and were sent away packing!

So we ended up at St. Park Marina.

Headed out to the main channel and it was rough, so we sought calmer waters.

Funny, we were all geared up for Crappie, but ended up getting our limit of Kentucky Bass on Crappie Minnows!

Right in the little coves around the Marina.

No trophies, but one hell of a meal!

I don't know about the bass, but I know the walleye eat the crappie from personal experience. I was cleaning a 22 inch walleye a few years ago and it had a ten inch crappie in its belly that was swallowed whole. We have also seen the walleye raiding crappie nesting areas early in the morning before the sun gets up very high, but they aren't as bad as the carp. They can mess up a nesting area really bad when they get rolling around. I carry a heavy rod in the boat and some snagging hooks just in case I find them in the back of a cove. You'll be hard pressed to find a fish that will put a better fight than a carp that has been snagged.

I've been told they are good eating too, if they are fixed right.

darn 10in crappie in a 22in walleye, bet that was a surprise! I'm sure all fish eat each other. Its good to see so many bass guys so serious about catch and release. I know when i catch bass they go right back, taste like s--t.
