This is my first spring at Stockton and it couldnt be a worse one to get started with let me tell ya. This weather has got the patterns even harder to figure out. Anyways I am heading out this week with a friend and really want him to catch some fish.. We'd prefer largemouths or smallies but he'd be happy with anything! Weather is supposed to start warmin up here later in the week. I was gonna put in at Masters and fish Maze creek with bass jigs and spinners but if no one is having any luck we'll just get some minnows and catch what we can at the bridge piers near mutton creek ramp. Any help would be appreciated!!

God bless

It's going to be at least 2 weeks before any kind of steady bite on anything...hunker down and wait...

A strike indicator is just a bobber...

The tributaries are flowing real good right now. In the last month the lake has gone from 859 to 865. This bodes well for good fishing real soon. There is a chance for warmer rains latter this week which should also help. Sounds like you have a good plan searching the backs of the creeks for bass. Maybe a Wart would also work. I guess you will check various water temps. I'm sure the backs of Birch, Goucher and Greaser should be a degree or two warmer, but if you stay on the Little sac arm Turkey Creek may be an option or farther up the river. If your fishing the north end the late late afternoon walleye bite on stick baits has turned on close to the dam.
