Troutnut69 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I really need to get away but am questioning whether it's worth my time to head South for a daytrip. We've got close to a foot of snow on the ground here in KC and I was wondering what the conditions are like around the Springfield/Branson area? Are the smaller creeks in the area blown out from recent rain and snow events or are they still fishable? Thinking seriously about hopping in the truck in the morning and heading that way depending on what I hear. Thanks for any info.....Jeff
sandbc Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 troutnut........we have not had nearly the rain or snow down this way that you have had in kc. I havent been out to the waters for 10 days but to my knowledge the waters are very fishable just a little early yet for the fish to be catchable. the lakes are coming up. stockton was about 7 feet low and has come up about 5. pomme is about 5 feet high. i will be fishing there sat. in a crappie tourney. tablerock is still low but coming up and they have been catching some nice bass mostly on the a rig there. weather is looking better everyday with some rain chances off and on but temps are to keep climbing. hope that helps. good luck
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 No snow in the Branson area and weather is predicted to be in the 60's with a chance of showers right now. The creeks and rivers are falling and unless there is a change in the forecast it should be a good weekend. You don't say what you're looking for, but the tailwater should be fine ad the whites heating up. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Mitch f Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Just look on the USGS river levels website, then you can see what Stevie has to Wonder. Rapid falling levels aren't good. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
