ollie Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Hello to all. We have planned our annual spring clean up for April 13th which is on a Saturday as usual. We will meet at noon and probably go until 2-3 pm. We are meeting somewhere different this year. This year we will meet at the further end upstream from the park. It will actually be by the Hwy 86 bridge. There is a pavillion there and the city just completed the new extension for the walking trail that ends there. Clean up will more than likely be from the Hwy 86 bridge downstream to the low water bridge in the park. We will provide bottled water and some refreshments during the clean up as well. If you are coming and don't know where this location is please give me a shout out. It isn't that difficult to find. Kwik Mart is nearby for anyone that knows where that is. If you have fished this creek then you know it needs your help. Hope to see some of my fellow OAF people out there. Buzz Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I plan on being there Ollie unless something unforseen pops up. I hope the weather is as nice as it is today. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
ollie Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 Bring that old canoe if you can Buzz, we will need it! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Buzz Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 You know I will. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

ollie Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 I want to think everyone on this forum who attended the clean-up this last Saturday. Oh wait, that was only you Buzz that showed up to help out! Serious though, when the idea came about to start this stream team many wanted something done, but few have acted on. I'm not talking about those of you that have made it out to one or two events, but those of you who screamed bloody murder for something to be done about the trash condition of the stream and then do nothing. Ok, rant done. Here is a pic of the trash we collected on a 1/2 mile stretch. Beautiful weather and about a dozen people showed up. One hopefully stream teams won't be needed due to everyone picking up their own trash, but I don't see that anytime soon. Buzz Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 We did pick up a lot of trash Saturday even though we didn't actually get into the creek itself. There was plenty around the edges. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Chief Grey Bear Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I know I haven't been to the last few. April is not good for me due to Turkey season and baseball.
