zarraspook Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Got on the water at 1530hrs ( sorry -- 3:30pm ) and at 3:32 put the first bass in the boat - 15.5 inches.. Fished till 6:30pm -- total 6 bass 15.5 - 16.5 -- 4 on a bone colored "McStick" and 2 on a Lake Fork Tackle 6" paddle tail worm.... All on secondary points and the water temp form launch till take out was 50 degrees + or - 1 degree.... After the warm up next week Stockton should EXPLODE with hungry fish.......................... zarraspook Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 I was using a "MO-JO" rig.... ( I.E. light weight Carolina Rig ) with a 1/8oz mo-jo weight and about 10-12 inches leader..... Members nobutt56 Posted April 5, 2013 Members Posted April 5, 2013 my son and i fished out of cedar creek yesterday. fished 4 hours..caught 6... largest 3-7. crank baits. i cannot figure where all you guys are finding 50 degree water? water was 46-47 where we fished. i cannot imagine water warmer anywhere? i have seen posts on here of 50-55 for a couple of weeks now. i believe you guys need to check your gauges. i know for a fact the creeks are running 45...how can the main lake be warmer?

Lifes2Short Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Temps are a moving target. I use a hand held infrared temp gun that I know is accurate. I had 52 degree water last Saturday in the back of a creek. I can tell you it was very muddy and full of debris but there was plenty of shad and shad eaters there. Even had carp jumping and getting ready to spawn. Won't after today I'll bet that water is pushing 60. Get ready!

Members dudley02 Posted April 7, 2013 Members Posted April 7, 2013 Depends on depth I had 55 degrees in 2ft at pomme yesterday and 48.3 in 30ft so it is warming up infrared isn't the best for water usually only accurate on solid objects.
frying eyes Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I put in at cedar ridge yesterday at 12pm water temp 48. Went to 123 bridge water was 56. Catch a few whites and few small crappie. hopefully water gets in the 60's by next weekend!!
