Nortrad Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Tried the streamer stripping early on, only a few turns, one by a nice brown. Got the nymph rig going later in the AM. Landed a 17" brown on a Rainbow Warrior variation. Also landed quite a few feisty 'bows, many on an Eng Thing. This was below Baptist. Beautiful day, but could have used more clouds. Met a cool fisherman from up north CT way. He had fished the NFOW the day before. I gave him some tips. Went down to Parker's and worked my way upstream, landing an 18" brown and some smaller bows, RW again for the brown, they like... Spring is behind down there, not a lot of buds, a few flowers, water was great.
Members salmotrutta Posted April 8, 2013 Members Posted April 8, 2013 Nice browns. Thanks for posting.
Jeff Tief Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 great pictures -really enjoy fishing for the browns in the Current River.
Buzz Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Very nice fish. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Members stlskyline Posted April 9, 2013 Members Posted April 9, 2013 Nice pictures. How was the river traffic with others out? Looking to get out later in the week.
Nortrad Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 There were a few canoes, mostly fisherman who were floating/camping, and a few kayaks. Ran into the same guys downstream, not bad at all. Didn't fish Tan Vat. Nice pictures. How was the river traffic with others out? Looking to get out later in the week.
ozark trout fisher Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Nice pictures. My experience this year has been that the browns are doing okay....but not near as many rainbows as usual. Fine by me!
BruteFish83 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Great photos. Sounds like and excellent trip! http://www.youtube.com/user/BruteFish83/videos
stlfisher Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 nice pictures and great fish. Traffic was brutal at Tan Vat last Friday and Saturday. Kinda depressing. Hopefully, it was just the first nice weekend that brought everyone out.
