Quillback Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Fished the White river this morning, going up river from the Big M marina, the water gets progressively more brown, go down river a couple of miles you start getting into some green water with decent visibility. Caught most of my fish in the green water, but did get a few in the brown water late in the morning and early afternoon. Almost all on a tube, I think I did get one c-rigging a craw. 13 black bass total, 4 of those were smallies. 4 maybe 5 keepers. Water temp was 56 to start and saw 60 in the back of a cove before I left. Saw quite a few beds in the backs of coves when I looked around in the shallows, but only saw a couple of males sitting on beds, most of the beds were empty. Looks like another cold front coming through so it may back them off again, but once it warms up after the front, we should see some spawning fish.

Quillback Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 There was a debris line just upriver from Big M, but other than that there wasn't much out there as far as big logs or limbs. But a person should definitely exercise caution and keep an eye out.
jeb Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I fished that same area Fri and Sat. Did okay on c and t rigs mostly. Over 20 fish a day for 2 guys. Debris was awful in the Big M to Eagle Rock area! Had to crawl through several large fields of floating trees and crap. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
