Members Crappie Fisherman Posted April 23, 2013 Members Posted April 23, 2013 Put in at K Dock on Sunday, had to drive to bee creek to find fishable water, it was stained all the way to the AR border. It cleared up upstream but the water was on 53 degrees in the clear stuff. Lots of debris everywhere, hit a big submerged tree with the ranger. Caught 3 crappie in 12 feet of water around brush. Couldn't buy a bite in the really muddy water.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 23, 2013 Root Admin Posted April 23, 2013 Could you find any clear water in the back of the creeks/coves? I was told Bear Creek isn't bad - catching some crappie there.
Members PDR Posted April 23, 2013 Members Posted April 23, 2013 Was up there Saturday, back of bear creek from the island up was nice and clear, but mud was pumping up the channel side, mudline was at state line cove mid morning and well downstream from there by lunch, water temps were 57-60, and the crappie were glued to the bottom in 24-26 FOW. Weekend before they were in 14-19 FOW suspended from 7-10'. Managed to scrape 12 crappie off the bottom, (we limited out last weekend)
