If my dad wants to rent a stall at Prairie Creek, would he be able to fish there and store his boat?

If not, what others marinas allow slip renters to fish?

What's the going rate for a 18' boat stall?

Im just trying to help my old man.

He's 66 years old and has trouble loading and unloading by himself.

Dad was trying to tie up his boat at the ramp last week and the wind pushed it out.

He had to swim at least 50 yards to get it back and nearly drowned.

Im glad it was him that called instead of the state police telling me that his boat was found but he wasn't.

There's a lot of lurkers and no comments on this topic

So, I'm assuming the answer is NO.

I got this email from Lost Bridge Marina last week... It is the other end of the lake but, you said "other"....

"Lost Bridge Marina is offering a 50% discount on all boat and Jet
Ski rentals, motel rooms and slips from now till May 23rd 2013 and reservations are filling up. That’s right, ½ off all boat and Jet Ski
rentals, rooms and slips. You may use this discount as many times as you like during the valid period but
you need to hurry, reservations are going fast."

Sorry I can't help as I have no knowledge about Beaver marinas. As a clue, perhaps, I pay just under $800 a year for my covered slip at Holiday Island. I bought the lift off the previous renter.

Really sorry to hear about your Dad! That's scary! I wish I could help but I know nothing about cost of boat slips. I can definately see why you want one though.

Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message.

He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

Thanks guys,

I will have him call around.

Its really my idea to get his boat into a stall bc I don't want him getting hurt at the ramp.

So, the only way that he will justify paying for a slip, is if its fishable.

I know Beaver doesn't allow fishing around commercial marinas, but Im curious how they feel about their own tenants doing it from within the stall itself.

That's the sticking point with him.

Lost Bridge would be closer for him, but twice as far for me to meet up with him.

We shall see what happens.

i have a stall at prarie creek. I believe the smallest they have is 20' and its aroudn 1,200 per year and if you buy a lift for it (which i highly suggest) it will run about $3,000-$5,000 for the lift. They do not do monthly rentals but will pro rate the stall till next march when all the leases renew. they do not rent lifts but they do sell used and new lifts. I bought a used lift for my bassboat and its worked out great and they also have security too so you dont have to worry about your boat or belongings.

Interesting,

I've never understood the notion of buying a lift for a stall that your renting.

I realize you don't have a choice in the matter.

It reminds me of a hunting club they we belonged to years ago.

You could buy a cabin but had to lease the ground it sat on.
