J-Doc Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 You buy the lift so its your job to maintain it and fix it if you break it. I bet someone tried renting lifts many years ago and quickly gave up on that idea. Lifts are a maintenance prone contraption. Kinda like owning 3 boats instead of just one! :-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
sfiser Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 you dont have to buy a lift for your stall. you can simply pay the stall rental, tie your boat up and leave it. most people do that but the water and algea take thier toll on your boat hull. If you like your stuff to stay nice, i highly recommend getting a lift. You might even find someone at Prarie Creek who will rent you thier lift. The office would have all the info on people who have lifts for rent/sale I dont know why people buy expensive boats and then just tie them up at the marina and let them sit in the water. A guy next to me has a really nice Nitro bass boat and he let it sit in the water over the summer and that thing is covered in algea on the boat hull and motor and looks awful. Mine sits on my lift and always has the cover on it and it looks good as new. I have never had issues with my lift (knock on wood) and there is not much on them to go wrong. I had maintenece done on mine a little while back for $30 and the guy who did it told me all the parts are cheap and the repairs are quick if something does go wrong.
