Due to all the rain we've been getting, no much work I can do for the next few days, so am trying to get Tuesday free to go smallmouth fishing. I'm thinking about going to the Narrows, it's been over a year since I've been to that access, and it was in the winter. I am a little familiar with a few miles upstream of the narrows, but was wondering if there's some good smallmouth fishing downstream from there. I'm taking my Supreme, and with the higher flows figure I can get around where I need to go.

Also considering heading to Arkansas, maybe Dalton, but figure the further north I can go, the clearer the water, but I want to fish an area that I can use soft plastics this time. Thanks for any info, Bret

There are smallmouth up and down from that access. The amount of water and the flows will be your biggest challenge. It is fishing well from Cane Bluff to Greer, but it is too small a water for most john boaters up there. Though I do know of a few that run up there with the right water, but you need to know real well what you are doing up there.

just below the access is a slackwater that should be really good if the river is offcolor.

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Thanks guys for the advice. Just got the boat ready to head that way in the morning, talked to a friend that lives on the river near Pocahontas, he said it cleared a lot today, it would have to be in better shape up past the state line. I do know of several slack water areas up there, might take advantage of the higher flow, we will see tomorrow.

Cody, if you could you should come up there and join us!
