Center Punch Posted November 26, 2006 Author Posted November 26, 2006 went fishing again today. fishing was off and on. i was trying to spot the big ones and did manage to catch a few in the 5-6 lb. range(pics to follow) i had one on 2 different times (although once he was fouled) and he snapped me off. i bet he was pushing 12 lbs. fun to fight but what a dissapointment on that goliath fish. he didnt want anything to do with me after that. i caught and seen most of the bigger ones in the upper portion of the river, but there are some pockets and pools on down that draws these big fish. i think i landed about 20 fish today. all were good sized with the smallest being a lb and a half and all had good colors. i will post pics of a couple. note: i caught the same fish 3 different times. i could tell by his hook jaw. that fish never learned www.troutchapters.com >>>---------->(x) Jared

Members jrbhc8 Posted November 27, 2006 Members Posted November 27, 2006 Once again, nice rainbow pics. I bet that they all put up a good fight. Your making Meremac Springs the upcoming place to fish in the winter. We will have to give the current and bennett a try later in Dec when I get done with school. Wetdreams fish looks like a rainbow colored log without that tail, I bet it was like reeling one in too. jrbhc8 www.troutchapters.com jrbhc8 ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ | <°)))>< | <°)))>< | | ¿ >°)))><
Members Wet Dreams Posted November 29, 2006 Members Posted November 29, 2006 Believe it or not, the rainbow did put up a nice fight for about 2 min. Than got into the swift water and didn't stand a chance.Well I was suprised I even had to fight the fish.I figured he would have acted like a fish flopping out of the water. (but in the water) Still find it hard to believe the fish looked as healthy as it did. Still pissed about the one that got away!!!
Center Punch Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 went fishing again today 11/29 wasnt the best day but a bad day fishing is still not too shabby. dont get me wrong, we had a pretty decent day(wet dreams and myself) but we could have done alot better with the potential. for example, wet dreams is daydreaming when a 5-6 lber dunks his indicator. after being a day late on the hookset, he spooks the fish off. i had a 7 lber on and was ready to net him and for whatever reason my line just broke. i didnt put any extra pressure on him either. we didnt get good pics today so for all you know i am making this up, but...........we salvaged the day with a couple pics including a nice brown here they are another what the heck, one more www.troutchapters.com >>>---------->(x) Jared
Members jrbhc8 Posted November 29, 2006 Members Posted November 29, 2006 Bad Day....? Looks like you all did alright. That brown is pretty wicked looking, a rare catch in Maramec. Shawn, it looked like you had a good catch. Give me 3 more weeks to finish school, and I'll be down there with you guys. jrbhc8 www.troutchapters.com jrbhc8 ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ | <°)))>< | <°)))>< | | ¿ >°)))><
