Members Brian99 Posted May 10, 2013 Members Posted May 10, 2013 Does anyone have a fishing report from Crooked Creek or the Kings River lately? Just wondering how the water is flowing and the fish are doing.
cnr Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Crooked is running at 11.7 and 165 cfs. That's a nice level to fish it by my experience. Last year it ran low (like everything else) and was around 9.5 most of the summer. We still caught fish but it was not optimal water.
Jason R. Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I was at the kings two weeks ago and it was a little higher than when i'd been there before (not sure what "normal" is). We caught some nice fish but our float was pretty short. http://flyinthesouth.com/
gotmuddy Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I prefer fishing cc on low water. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Members Need2fish Posted June 4, 2013 Members Posted June 4, 2013 I prefer fishing cc on low water. have to agree. I grew up fishing crooked creek and the best time to catch the big brownies is low water in the summer. they are spooky but nothing like sight fishing smallies in that low clear water
