Just curious. What eepth were the eyes suspending or where you rubbing the bottom? Walleye are a new species for me and I've yet to catch one. I've been running crawler harnesses a few feet off bottom and have had a few short strikes but that's it.

walleye at about 20'..I use a three way swivel with a 1/4 ounce sinker on a out 18 inches of line and crawler harness on about 12" of line...I lift my rod and make sure I am as close to bottom as possible...drop our rod down and make bottom contact ever so often...hope you catch one...

A strike indicator is just a bobber...

Thanks for the input. I hope to get on them Friday. I have been putting in at Aldrich. How's the fishsing overall down on that end? I've been catching plenty of whites and a few black bass and crappie.

i find points and run from point to point along the shore staying between 15 and 20 fow pulling deep diving cranks. I use crawler harnesses during the summer months and usually fish the same spots i do now, i just move out to like 30 fow, or i move to a flat with a shelf and fish that. i use a 2 oz bottom bouncer and keep my speed 1 mph or less, thats key to my success. 3 limits in my last three trips,id say both lucky and a lil bit knowledgeable. Hope this helps.

Thank you both very much for the help. I will be trying both at daylight Friday morning. Any good crank suggestions? I have some fatter wide wobble 20ft+ baits and some tighter. Minnow shaped cranks that will run 12 or so but I was wondering about running a floating minnow behind a 2 or 3oz sinker with about a 6ft leader.

Minnesota - What kind of cranks do you use? In otherwords, what constitutes a "deep diving" plug. Also, about how much line should be let out and how fash should one troll? I'm not sure my big motor will run slow enough or that my trolling motor will last long enough :( So, I might wind-up with a controlled nightcrawler drift.

I'm new to Missouri Walleyes and any advise would be greatly appreciated.
