Jeremy Hunt Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Want to say hello to everyone in the Forum that we now have for the Taney area which is very needed. I hope to fish and learn some stuff from everybody. My Question is.. what does anyone know about wind chop and how it can relate to fishing conditions? I would like to touch on this subject because alot of people either don't like to fish in the wind because of casting conditions or because it can just get down right ugly with wind knots etc. What I have found out is that wind chop can be your best friend. It will also make you a better caster because you will have to adjust your cast more often to figure out just how to cast in wind. Accept the drift.....<>>><flysandguides.comVisit my blog
Luke Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 "Wind Chop" good Fish can't see me as well Fish seem to bite better (probably related to the first one) I can't see the fish as well (sightfishing is fun) It can be a little harder to cast It's harder to get a drag free drift (if that's what you're going for) In the fall, the leaf litter can get a little out of hand I honestly don't mind if it's glassy smooth or if it's a little choppy. They both have advantages and disadvantages. --Luke
Members albright3 Posted November 10, 2005 Members Posted November 10, 2005 I agree, I usually dont care especially in the mornings of real late, but in the middle of the day the wind is your best friend. Keep in mind too that wind blows hatches out of trees allowing fish to go on feeding frenzys
