Going to float this weekend and hopefully the baffonary will not be out in abundance. We are going to float moon valley to bennett which I have not floated before. What can I expect? We usually stop and fish every pool and every riffle so we don't float very fast. Other than crawdad cranbaits should I throw something else. We normally float below bennett so this is a new stretch of water for me. Any info is appreciated.

You shouldn't see many floaters up there. I would dredge the bottom with plastic. There might still be some trout up there and if you want go for broke throw Rooster Tails or something similar.

It used to be prime water, but over the decades it's filled in some of the best holes.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

It's a much slower float but should be ok being as the river is up some.Goggle Eyes usually bite good that way.

Grubs and tube baits? Guessing watermelon or pumpkin color?

Yeah and a little chartreuse highlight wouldn't hurt.

Took awhile to post how our trip went. Several trout were taken on guess what? Crawdad crank baits but some of them were not rebel craws. Two nice SM were taken with crawdad crank baits as well. One was 17"s. No fish were caught on soft platic grubs. I used soft plastic worm and caught many nice goggle eyes. Trip was enjoyable and I did like the upper float but could see where it might be tough with a lack of rain. There were however several idiots out on the river slapping water with paddles and tipping over contentiously.
