Hojo Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I'm gonna be in Conway next weekend and trying to figure out which lake to hit up. Will be bass fishing. I have no experience on either so I'm looking for some help.
bfishn Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Tough choice. Both good fisheries, but hugely different, and neither are particularly forgiving to newbies. I'd probably opt for the extra hours of fishing by staying close on Lake Conway. I can't dance like I used to.
Ealy Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 If you're a good clear water fishermen on the White River Chain, Greers is right up your alley. If you like fishing grass and lily pads, go to DardanelIe. 'd prefer Dardanelle myself, but caught tons of fish in both lakes, Greers isn't difficult to navigate, but be very careful on Dardanelle. You might consider dropping the trolling motor from where you are or getting behind a boat that knows where they're going. There are good channel markers, but pay attention to those. Good Luck!
Hojo Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 I grew up on Bull Shoals, so the deep clear water is what I'm used to. The guy I'm fishing with has lots of Dardanelle experience so that isn't an issue. Pretty much just comes down to which lake is hotter right now.
