Family Dog In Need Of A Good Home

This 7 year old collie/heeler mix is a great dog for a single person living alone, a ranch or farm, or retired and lonely.

She is a good companion but doesn't get along with kids.

She is very loyal and will stick by your side.

She barks at intruders or strangers making her a great dog for somebody's shop, business, farm or house.

She likes to walk, go hiking, canoeing, camping.

She has all shots, spayed, and has a micro chip.

Also, dog house collars, leash, dog bowls, dog blanket, everything.

I need to find her a home, bc I've got a toddler that she doesn't like.

Its really hard for me to part with her, but my child is more important.

Please help me find her a good home.

That is a shame. What is her deal with kids? That dog should get along with anything.

She would go great on the farm, but we have a Great Pyrenees now and don't need another.

JD she's very aggressive towards them.

I adopted her in 2006 from a family bc of the same reason.

I was single and in college at the time.

We waded and canoed everywhere.

The past 2 months she's gone yard dog on the toddlers brought to my house.

Its either jealousy or a prior bad experience.

I cant keep a dog like that knowing she will eventually bite a child.

I love that dog more than some family members, but she's become a liability.

So, she has to go.

It must be the heeler in her. That brings out some agression. We have had a heeler in the past that was kid tolerant, but not kid loving. Never had a problem with collies.

Been my experience that heelers are full cousins to dingos....nip at most anything

She's protected me from several vicious creek dogs over the years.

People really need to leash their animals no matter what creek they're on.

One dog in particular she fought 3 times in weekend. (no leash of course)

It had the look of a dingo, real crazy eyed dog.

That dog would always attempt to circle me.

Each time, it attacked my dog.

I had to break it up, by repeatedly snapping that dog across the ribs with a spinning rod.

We fished together this afternoon, its been too long.

She never left my sight.

The kinda dog that will run back to your house and let your wife know something's wrong.

It must be the collie.

sorry to hear that. My wife's best friend's dog is the same way. Great dog, but will put kids to the floor if given the chance.

Im debating on building a dog pen for her.

If you live in the NWA area and know of a chainlink type dog pen, let me know.

It would be much cheaper to buy a used pen.

The new ones are $350+

Look for used chain link stuff on craigslist - shouldn't be too hard.

How is she with outdoor cats?
