ten_scoach Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 I'll post this on both the truman and LOZ sights. Wanting to try my hand at a new species......Hybrids. Any advice on general when, where, and how to catch these fish would be apprecitated. Thanks.
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 They do indeed run to the flow from Truman. I can tell you from my experience there is no way to know when to be there. It's a hit and miss, if you hit it's great, if not there's still generally something biting. There are just to many variables, water temperature, flow, shad movement, and the list goes on. Top water walk the dog lures, jigs with a plastic trailer and rods with a lot of reach will improve your chances. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
exiledguide Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I'd add the largest size Redfin might also be a good idea
shaker Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 ten_scoach if you would go down to the next forum Ozarks Tailwaters and look at the Truman and Upper Osage subforum bet you would find plenty of information. Might have to dig and read all of the posts but there is some good stuff there. RB
emjay Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Fishing on shore or on a boat? If you're fishing on shore, just go below the dam when the water is running. Its like people have said, its a hit or miss. if you're lucky they will be busting on top along side the whites and you'll know right away the difference in fight between the two fish.
