Bob A Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Just picked up a very nice South Bend bamboo, 8 1/2 ', 3 pieces however no idea of line weight but 5wt seems to cast okay. Very good condition honey blonde finish and blanks pretty staight. Has been rewrapped but not a professional appearance. Would like to have this rod refinished/reconditioned, primarily guide relocations and wrapping, possibly relaquered. Anyone proficient in this, and lives within a 90 minute drive from Springfield, MO, please feel free to contact me. Bob A
timsfly Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I have a guy that does that kind of work, and does it very well. He has refinished several bamboo rods for me and for several of my customers. Call me tomorrow at the shop 417-847-4956, between the hrs of 10a.m.-1p.m. and I'll give you his #, or bring it down and I'll have him come by and give an estimate. His prices are very reasonable. Bob A Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 Tim, thanks for the reply. Will be getting in touch with you on this, and appreciate it. Bob A
Gavin Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 You'll probably never get the $ back out of a refinished South Bend. I'd fish it the way it is or do it yourself. Cheers.
