Brian Sloss Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Guys We have recently started an organization called Friends of the Eleven Point River which will work on projects with the forest service to make improvements on the Eleven Point River. Our first project, which will consume all our efforts for the first few years, is the saving and restoring of the old Greer mill built in 1899. We will be launching a web page in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime we have set up a facebook page. Seems I can't add links here, but if you go to your facebook page and search Friends of the Eleven Point River you should find it. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
jdmidwest Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Sounds like a good idea, wish I lived a little closer to help. How far gone is the mill now? I have not been to it since the late 80's. Brian Sloss Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 It is going to need to be a big project. We are supposed to have a historical preservation experts come in let us know just how big. You will be able to see pics on our facebook page and our web site (when it is ready). www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
jdmidwest Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 You are not planning on restoring the waterworks portion of the mill are you? That would be a major chore. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Brian Sloss Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 Just the mill on hwy 19, there will not be a hammer or nail within 3/4 of a mile of the spring branch. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
