RSBreth Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I've fished for at least a few hours every day (except Monday) this week somewhere on the James. The water level is still up but dropping - if we don't get any more rain this weekend will be perfect floating. I was doing really good on a compact chartreuse/purple/brown spinnerbait and a small 1/8-ounce finesse jig in orange/brown with a green pumpkin Leech trailer. Drawing a blank on poppers and walk-the-dog topwaters and buzzbaits. Not much on crankbaits, and only a few on hard jerkbaits. Good fishing overall and good paddling.
Members AmericanAngler Posted June 21, 2013 Members Posted June 21, 2013 Sounds like fun thanks for the info. Was thinking about the James this weekend. "Let me fish or else"
Members Chris Musick Posted June 25, 2013 Members Posted June 25, 2013 I'm new to river fishing in general. Would you have any pointers for a rookie who has been going to Delaware town and shelvin rock?
