4Th Of J Crappie

Wife and I made it out again. Hit the lake around 9 AM and fished til 4 PM. Man was the lake calm. Considering last time when we didn't do well on standing timber we stuck to brush piles in 10 14 foot of water. Picked a few off each one and left with 15 each. Nearly all the keepers were black crappie for some reason, The white crappie were running only 6 to 9 inchs. Water was 82 to 84 and very green with about a foot of visibility.

Nice report strawhat.Im leaving now to scatter some catfish jugs and try for some crappie around some trees we found yesterday while trolling.Everytime we trolled this one area we would catch one small crappie.The last time through that area i was in 18fow and my shallow water alarm went off and it said i was in 6fow and i saw 2-3 trees on the screen.Maybe i will get lucky and get my first limit of crappie for the year.
