Gary Lange Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 This is really cool. You may need to visit often but I have seen Wildebeast, Impala's, Elephants, and Vervet Monkeys. I will also put up a South African Wildlife Identifier. http://www.wavelit.com/popup/playerAfricam.asp# Wildlife ID http://www.sa-venues.com/wildlife/default.htm I have it Bookmarked so I can visit it often. It gives the time of day but they are 7 hours ahead of us. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 28, 2006 Root Admin Posted November 28, 2006 Oh my gosh... I can't even imagine the bandwidth it takes to broadcast this if it's live. And in Africa!!!??? It's tough getting any connection- but in the bush!!?? And sound too? Incredible. Thanks for posting it.
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Now that's cool! I'm watching it at 5p here and it's night there. I thought I could hear something growling, but never showed. This will be just as good and interesting as the trout cam. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Gary Lange Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 During the daylight hours is when they have the most activity. It is really neat to see them moving about and playing. They Monkey's were having a ball wrestling on the ground and in the trees. Wildebeast were grassing as were the Impala's. The Elephants stopped for a drink. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
Danoinark Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That is so cool. My grandson got a kick out of it. Thanks for the site. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Terry Beeson Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Gary, Thanks!!!... I had that bookmarked and lost it a couple of years ago. It's WILD what you can see on some of the cams over there. I watched a herd of elephants a couple of years ago at the watering hole for a couple of hours. Several other "critters" would come by while they were drinking and cooling themselves. Better cams now, too... Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 1, 2006 Root Admin Posted December 1, 2006 Just saw a male lion walk in front of the camera. Been hearing his carry on for 20 minutes now. I play the sound most of the time- really sounds cool (I have surround sound on the computer). Marsha saw a hyeana yesterday.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 1, 2006 Root Admin Posted December 1, 2006 Don't believe me??? These guys are quick - http://youtube.com/watch?v=K5C8wwsbrF0
LostMyWife Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I heard it earlier but did not see it. I guess I did not watch long enough. It is a different camera now. It is moving and zooming in on animals in the background. Yes, I'm That Guy
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I was watching early today, about 6:00 p.m. their time. Saw a couple of Hartebeest (I think), a herd of Wildebeast with a couple of young that couldn't have been over a day old, a heard of Zebra, an elephant and a couple of Impala's. This site is a great one. I leave it on most of the day just for the sounds. Kinda relaxing. Sorry I missed the lion Thanks for the link Phil. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
