Well a buddy and I went out to Peabody King's Eagle Lake, a.k.a Pit 3, a.k.a the pike and muskie lake. We had a great time and had the lake all to ourselves which suprised me for a Friday night. We ended up catching 5 between us from 6 to 8, but we spent a lot of that time trying to get to know the lake. We tried fishing deep because of the heat, but in the end we caught all of our fish shallow...so...not sure what the acurate pattern was.

Funny story: I was fishing a zara spook and had a huge roll. I set the hook and pop... line snapped. About ten minutes later, the lure flooted to the top. My buddy snagged the line and the fish was still on the line. Brought it in, and this is what we found. This actually happened twice on Friday.

Anyway, this is an awesome lake. If you like pit fishing, you should check it out.

Tight lines,
