I will probably be fishing during that time. I am just 30 minutes away. Probably will be away from work during that period so keep me in touch and be sure and remind me again when you will be there.

Hey, Lost!

My wife and I are looking to fish Saturday and Sunday the New years weekend! We are also from St Louis. Patti is the Mo. Coord. for Casting for Recovery!

If you wanna hook up down that way, I'll keep you posted on our travel plans!

Now, I have fished with, camped with and ate a few meals with Danno! What can I say.... Great guy! We keep chatting about meeting back up that way but have been missing the conection on a few trips!

Then, too, Leonard is wanting me to show him how to night fish!:blink: This could be a real productive trip!!!

Keep in touch!

P.S. Ozark Fly Fishers, Local club here in St Louis, will be having some of the best classes for fly fishing methods.... Casting, bug studies and field trips! All the basics and welcoming to all level of experience of lack of! Some classes are offered through St Louis County Parks&Rec. and others are through the club, itself! A great investment to join the club as the classes are cheap (free???) to members! Web Site: http://www.ozarkflyfishers.org/

I will be fishing on New Years Day, starting early. I start every year this way...have at Taneycomo for around 8 or 9 years. Best way to start the year.

I usually fish from the old boat ramp down to avoid other people though. Don't like crowds while fishing.

If you see someone in the parking lot with a propane stove & coffee on, it's probably me, ask for a cup.

LMW:

If you aren't comfortable with indicators, why not try a soft hackle or crackleback? Throw it about a quarter of the way down, let it swing, let it sit for maybe 15 seconds at the end of the swing, if you haven't had a hit by then strip it 3 times short and slow, pause and repeat. If you get a bump, don't give up, keep stripping and you may get a fish yet.

This should also work with a woolie.

I don't like indicator fishing as you can probably tell. :D
