caught my first Niangua rainbow on a dry fly...I've caught a few browns but never a rainbow till yesterday...fun...smallest fish I caught all day, but fun to see him come up and take it...probably caught 8, all in the 12" range...not much traffic on the river, with a little rain...

For some reason the fish I catch inthe park are generally small also.

Were you wading or paddling?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I put in at Barclay and kayaked upstream about 2 miles...fishing all the way up and back...spent much more time in the water than the kayak...

I'm just ready to get a brown out of the niangua... I've tried. Always failed. What was your top pattern? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

...I just make stuff up...but the closest would be some sort of hopper or Elk Hair Caddis....

I was just upstream, at the bend where there rapid is a couple of weeks ago and didn't catch a thing. I was totally disappointed. If one of you want to join me on a brown-trout-hunt in a few weeks, let me know. I'm anxious...

I have some size 12 stimulator patterns that I tied that i'm dying to try.
