I am thinking of purchasing a place in the lakewood village subdivison near edwards MO, its not on Lake of the Ozarks, but is just acrossed the road. I have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me with. What can I expect fishing-wise from this part of the lake? I like to fish walleyes, crappies and catfish mostly. I have an 18 foot aluminum deep v with a 70 horse motor, is it enough boat? It has always done great on big lakes up north, but Ive heard LOTO can get rough and I know the pleasure boaters are crazy there. Are there bars/restaurants in close proximity (within a few miles) of where I'll be? Is the area decent for hog hunting? If anyone could answer any of these questions, I would raelly appreciate it!

This is around mile marker 85, next to spring branch cove.

as far as the boat goes, you'll be fine in that area. fishing will be good, crappie cats and bass. Ocassional walleye. I'm based out of the Camdenton area on the big Niangua. I have a 17.5' aluminum bass boat, and rarely have any problems. I've been as far as the 67MM on the osage on busy weekends and have never had a problem either. You might see a few big boats, but nothing like the main lake area. So don't fret. You are only a hop skip and a jump from Truman Lake, so take big advantage of that too! Good Luck.

81 mm is a place called the Oar House (bar/resturant) and on the 79 is Buck Naked (Bar). I had a camper up at the Last Resort Campground for about 10 years. Did a bunch or crappie/catfishing, pretty good area for it. Others catch walleye but I never really targeted them. As far as rough water conditions you have no worries about that. Not a lot of big boats up that area.
